Library services for Alumni
As a University of Melbourne alumna or alumnus you may still wish to access the library for information relating to your job or role in the community or simply to research areas of personal interest. And one of the new special benefits of being an alumnus is that you may continue to remotely access certain electronic library databases.
A carefully selected range of our most in-demand electronic databases have been made available for use by alumni. By paying a fee of A$45, University of Melbourne alumni can access these for 12 months from the date of payment. Alumni are invited to take up this new benefit, which will be reviewed annually, by December 2009.
Alumni registration
To register for access to the alumni database collection, you will first need to set up your alumni user account with the University of Melbourne Alumni Relations Team. There you will be able to register as a member of the Alumni Web Community and pay for access to the alumni database collection.
Once you have paid for access to the alumni database collection, you will be able to authenticate using your Alumni Web Community username and password.

A broad selection of electronic databases spanning a wide range of subject areas are available through this service. Please click here to view the complete list of electronic databases available to University of Melbourne alumni.
Please note that not all journals make all content available in fulltext online. Should you have any queries about journals and content availability for alumni, please contact Ms Sabina Robertson on +61 3 8344 5717.
Borrowing hardcopy Library items
Alumni can purchase a concession-priced 'borrowing membership' which will enable them to borrow hardcopy Library items.
