Reference Lists

On a separate page, at the end of your essay or assignment, before any appendices...

  • Include a reference list , heading "References", of all sources you have actually cited, (but NOT reference lecture notes or personal communications.)
  • Organise alphabetically, by name - no numbers are needed.
  • Each entry indented with 'hanging indent'.
Single author Others

Alphabetical order of author's surnames, then chronologically for each author, then sequential letters after the date for each citation, e.g.:

Bailey, F. B. (1996). ...

Corcoran, A. A. (2001). ...

Agency, Institution or Association authors: acronyms or abbreviations are NOT used;
Co-authors: list after sole publications by first author, (alphabetical order of second authors) e.g.:
