Acknowledging Sources

"To avoid plagiarism, you must give credit whenever you use another person's work. This means that whenever you use information obtained from another source including ideas, examples, theories or opinions, you must give a full reference to that source."

Language and Learning Skills Unit's Referencing Guide Acknowledging Sources

This guide is designed for LFR students: it summarise aspects of the Harvard (Author/Date) Style. The Faculty of Land and Food Resources recommends the Harvard Style, for all written assignments, unless a lecturer specifically requires another system be used.
[Animated overview in a new window].
If another system is required, ensure which system is to be used and where a guide can be accessed. Some common systems can be found via other citation styles. If no recommendation is given, use the author-date system.

The LFR Style Manual: covers the Harvard referencing system (pp 16-23) in addition to offering guidelines on other aspects of writing and presenting assignments - download here
