Publishing

UMA holds some noteworthy and diverse collections of publishers' records that span different genres and eras. The type of records held within each collection is various and includes business records such as ledgers and advertisers' day books in the case of the two newspaper collections, while the literary collections - such as McPhee Gribble Pty Ltd and Meanjin - hold author correspondence and manuscripts in addition to their records of business.

The archive of the University of Melbourne-based literary journal from its foundation in 1940, the Meanjin Archive is of national significance for its comprehensive authors' correspondence and manuscript files.
