Some high use items are available for a 7 day renewable loan or over night non-renewable loan. All books can be accessed through the Library Catalogue PeriodicalCatalogue location code: UniM Cres P The periodical collection includes a large range of national and international journals on forestry and related disciplines in both print and electronic form. All print journal titles can be accessed through the Library Catalogue. Databases which index the contents of the journals can be found in Supersearch. ReserveCatalogue location code: UniM Cres reserve The reserve collection contains resources that have been designated as high use material by teaching staff. Items in this collection are labelled with a red spot. Red spot reserve items are available for a two-hour loan during the day and overnight from 4:00 pm. It also includes theses and CD-ROM's which are a 7 day renewable loan. All these resources can be accessed through the Library Catalogue Creswick SpCCatalogue location code: UniM Cres SpC The Creswick Special Collection inlcudes a range of books on forestry and related disciplines that were published in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. All books can be accessed through the Library Catalogue Audio-visualCatalogue location code: UniM Cres AV The audiovisual collection consists of videos, tapes and slides which are 28 day renewable loan. All these resources can be accessed through the Library Catalogue Information skillsLibrary staff can arrange Information Skills courses and orientation courses at any time for staff and students. MFES StudentsClasses are held in consultation with Academic Staff covering Information Literacy skills as needed. Topics inlcude: Catalogue use, Supersearch and online databases, Endnote and effective internet searching. Students are taken on an orientation tour of the library and receive information on how to access the entire University of Melbourne Library resources. Extra classes or individual instruction to cover other information skills requirements are available on request. These classes involve using specific Forestry related on-line databases, internet searching, etc Contact Library Staff Staff and PostgraduatesStaff and Postgraduate students can request classes or individual instruction. Contact Library Staff Photocopying facilitiesPhotcopying and scanning facilities are not available to the public. A photocopier is situated in Student Computer Lab 1, which is adjacent to the library. Scanning facilities are also available in the student computer labs. |
