Step 1:

Select the library  you will collect the item from.

  • In most cases this will be you local campus library.
  • Parkville students should select Baillieu Library.
  • External students should select the Regional Branch library at the campus where they enroled.

 

Note: External students who would like to collect the requested material from a Regional Branch library other than the one at which they are enroled should include a message to this effect in the Comments/Further information box at the bottom of this form.

Step 2:

Enter your name, barcode and contact detail

  • You only need to include your address if you are an external student.  Internal students will be notified when the requested item is available for collection from their campus library.
  • Your barcode number should be on your student I.D. card.  It is a 14 digit number beginning with 2.
  • Providing an email address allows us to notify you more quickly when the item you have requested is available for collection.

Step 3

Select the campus library where the material is held.

  • If the location of the item specified in the catalogue is UniM Burnley, select LFR Burnley from the list.
  • If the location of the item specified in the catalogue is UniM Creswick, select LFR Creswick from the list.
  • If the location of the item specified in the catalogue is UniM Dookie, select LFR Dookie from the list.
  • If the location of the item specified in the catalogue is UniM Rural, select UniM Rural from the list.
  • If the location of the item specified in the catalogue is UniM Vet W, select Veterinary Science Library  from the list.
  • For all other locations, select Any Parkville library from the list.

Step 4

Enter the author and title of the material you would like photocopied, along with the relevant page numbers.  You will also need to enter the author, title, location and call number of the journal or book in which the material appears.

  • You can find the author and title of a particular journal article or book chapter in electronic databases .
  • You can find the author, title, location and call number of journals or books in the library catalogue.
  • Click on the  icon opposite to access either Buddy or a web version of the library catalogue in a new window.

Step 5

Enter the latest date that this item could reach you and still be useful to you.

This enables the library to inform you if the item you requested will not be available in time to be of use to you.  You may then try to obtain the item elsewhere.

Step 6

Enter any additional information or specific requests you wish to make.

For example, external students who would like to collect the requested material from a Regional Services library other than the one at which they are enrolled should include a message to this effect here.

Step 7

Send completed form or Clear form and re-enter details.

  • Click SEND button to submit your request.
  • Click CLEAR to erase all the information you have entered and start again.
