This service may be used by all University of Melbourne Nursing, Physiotherapy or Medical Clinical staff and students who have a valid library borrowing card.

No.  Books and videos held at University of Melbourne libraries are lent for free.

Are there any restrictions on the sort of material that can be requested?

Almost all the material held at University of Melbourne libraries is available for borrowing, with the exception of journals and those items listed in the catalague as being NOT FOR LOAN.  You should also  ask your library contact to confirm availability before requesting 7-day or Overnight loans items.

Note:  Although items at the Melbourne Business School and Victorian College of the Arts are listed in the University of Melbourne catalogue, they are not accessible via this service.

Where do I collect the material that I have requested?

Requested materials will generally be delivered to the library at the hospital where you are currently placed.  You will be notified when the material has arrived and is available for collection from the librarian.

Note: If you would like to collect the requested material from a University of Melbourne Branch library rather than the hospital where you are currently placed, please feel free to request via the Library Web Catalogue. Please see this page for more information.

How long does it take for requested materials to arrive?

In general, materials will be available for collection at the requesting library within a matter of days.  The exact time taken to tranfer materials depends on courier delivery schedules and other factors outside the library's control.
