Engineering Library Relocation

Friday 6 July 2007 was the last day of business for the Engineering Library in Building Block A. The Faculty of Engineering will soon begin building a new Student Learning Centre in this space.

Engineering library collections are now relocated as follows:

Reserve and Reference books - Baillieu Library
High use text books and journals - Old Quad
Low use books and journals - Store (closed access)
(books can be ordered from Store through the Request button on the Library catalogue; click here to order journals from Store)

The Old Quad building is located between the Student Union and south lawn, building 150, map ref G15 on this campus map (PDF, 375kb).

How do I request Engineering books and journals that are not located in the Old Quad or the Baillieu library?
Engineering books and journals that are not relocating to Old Quad or the Baillieu library are being moved to library storage in Brunswick . This store is not an open collection but material will be available shortly through the library catalogue ‘request' mechanism.

Where do I return items I have borrowed from the Old Quad?
Any other library on campus.

Where can I find study space?
Engineering students are welcome to use study space in any library on campus. You can also use Room 204 in Civil Engineering Block D; the faculty has made this room available, it has desks and chairs and is always open; wireless access to the internet will be available there soon. Where can I photocopy and print?
Old Quad does not have photocopying or printing facilities. The Baillieu library nearby has photocopying and printing facilities.

How do I access electronic books and journals?

Why is this relocation temporary?
Engineering core collections and services will be relocated to the Eastern Learning Hub (now the Education Resource Centre) early 2008.
