The Education Resource Centre (ERC) is currently undergoing redevelopment to become the Eastern Resource Centre Library as part of a larger Student, Library and Learning Centre development. As far as possible, the ERC will remain open during the redevelopment period. Further information can be found at: http://www.lib.unimelb.edu.au/collections/erc/relocation.html and http://www.lib.unimelb.edu.au/collections/erc/relocation.html#hub. The Library would like to advise all staff and students to regularly check these sites to confirm opening status. The Education Resource Centre is the second largest library on the Parkville Campus of the University of Melbourne, campus map, (Melway 571 J12, building 171) and houses several large collections. The most significant collection serves the study, teaching and research needs of the staff and students of the Faculty of Education. This collection consists of books, journals, theses, microforms and audio-visual materials. The University’s Media Collections is located on the fourth floor of the ERC. As well as an extensive collection, it provides playback facilities and a range of services to the staff and students of the university. The ERC also houses the University’s Map Collection, a collection of 140,000 maps, one of the largest in the country, as well as a range of digital resources. The Research Collection which is multidisciplinary in scope contains primary and secondary resources. Facilities available within the library include computer terminals available for internet access, student study spaces, photocopying and a student discussion room. Members of the general public are welcome to come into the library and use the resources available there. ERC Collections Relocation (Information and FAQ's) |
