Burnett Cross. Dr Kaare Nygaard, 1980s. Silver-gelatine photograph Dr Nygaard performed an unsuccessful operation on Grainger to halt the spread of cancer. He also executed a series of bronze sculptures of the composer. The photographer was Burnett Cross, physicist and co-inventor with Grainger of 'free music machines'. |
