Facilities

Media Collections provides facilities and equipment to enable the playback and use of items in the Media Collections. These facilities are provided solely for the purpose of tertiary research and study. Precedence is given to University of Melbourne staff and students. Editing or duplication of materials is not permitted. Children are not deemed to be eligible users. There is an interactive floor map of Media Collections (level 4 ERC) to assist you in locating the equipment or facility you need.

Collaborative media learning stations

Available in viewing room 2, enabling 2 to 3 people to view videos and DVDs together whilst studying

Compact disc players
CDs can be played on all DVD players and on the media computers.
Computers
4 computers - PC only.
Buddy [i.e. on-line electronic resources].
DVD Region 4.
Multimedia playback.
Internet access on 3 PCs - No e-mail use allowed. 1 PC without internet access.
Non-internet PC can be used to install multimedia software.
Lectopia on internet access PC.
Printing not available.
These computers can only be used by University of Melbourne students and staff. (Software licensing agreements and University of Melbourne policy dictate that the Internet, e-mail services and computer software held in the Media Collections can only be used by University of Melbourne students and staff.)

Headphones (extra sets)
Extra sets of headphones can be borrowed from the ERC Service Desk.
Remote controls
Remote controls are available from ERC Loans Desk Level 1 or from the Information Desk on Level 4. Please note the letter and make of the player before requesting.
