The QuickTime files have been encoded using the QuickTime
Pro MPEG-4 codec and require QuickTime 6 for playback.
The RealAudio files have been encoded using HelixProducer
9 and may require an updated RealPlayer (RealOne) for playback
File names reflect the source (eg. cd7604), the track
number (eg. cd7663_1 or cd7663_2) and the encoded bit rate ( e g. cd7604_1_160
is encoded at 160kbps). 150 or 160 kbps is the "normally recommended" bit rate for 10Mbps LANs. Higher bit rate encoded files may sound better but
are larger in size and this increases the possibility of data transfer
problems and the resultant "distortion". Select the lowest encoding bit rate that produces acceptable sound quality.
