Media items at the Service Desk
Media materials in high demand are placed on hourly loan at the request of academic staff. These materials can be borrowed from the Service Desk on Level 3 (ERC). The loan period is usually for 2 hours (for use only within the Library) but some materials are for 1 day/overnight loan and are marked as such. The loan period for each item is identified on the catalogue. The loan of Service Desk Media materials is confined to University of Melbourne staff and students.
Media items borrowed from the Service Desk must be returned there. Heavier than usual fines are incurred for late return.
All materials on Service Desk Media are listed in the Library Catalogue. These can be searched for via the subject reading lists option, by the subject (i.e. subject name or code) or by the lecturer's surname. Alternatively you can search for items, via the normal library catalogue using title or keyword searches.
Materials in the Service Desk Media collection may also be booked for use at a particular time.
