• Alta Vista Choose multimedia format from the top page. Allows some specification of formats.
• Dogpile audio, video and image searching
• Google Image Claims to be most comprehensive image search on Web. Has some special image searching capabilities in "Advanced Image Search."
• ITN Archive
  ITN Archive is one of the largest commercial archives in the world, with around 300,000 hours of news and feature material and an additional 15 hours added each day. Our news material comprises ITN's output since 1955, the entire Reuters Television library, and the British Pathe News Archive, both carrying footage dating back to 1896
• Singingfish Multimedia is a good place to look for streaming media. Goes beyond music, allows specification of audio and video, software format, and length.
• Yahoo Audio Search Works pretty well, retrieving sound files in a variety of formats, but keep in mind that the default is set for music; if you want other kinds of sounds, specify Podcasts or Other Audio.

PictureAustralia is an Internet based service that allows you to search many significant online pictorial collections at the same time.

• State Library of Victoria Picture Catalogue

  The Pictures Catalogue is a partial list of all items in the Library's Picture Collection. The Catalogue also contains digital images of plates from some of the Library's Australiana Rare Books collections. There are over 160,000 digital images available on this catalogue. Items without digital images may be viewed in the Picture Collection. An appointment is necessary to visit the Collection. A card catalogue for items not listed in this online catalogue is available in the Picture Collection.
