The Louise Hanson-Dyer Music library is predominantly a borrowing library, and many of the books, scores, sound and video recordings may be borrowed.
Loan Periods: General text books and musical scores may be borrowed for twenty-eight days, with the exception of some marked "Overnight Loan" and "RR" (Recommended Reading). These loans may be renewed or extended four times. Compact discs and and video recordings may be borrowed for seven days, with the exception of some marked "Overnight Loan" and "RR" (Recommended Reading). These loans may be renewed or extended four times. "RR" (Recommended Reading) materials must be borrowed for seven days only (books and scores) or two days only (compact discs). These loans may not be renewed or extended. "Overnight Loan" materials must be returned before 10am on the next week-day. These loans may not be renewed or extended. Reserve materials with "2 hour loan" labels may be borrowed for 2 hours in the library; those with "Overnight Loan" labels may also be borrowed overnight but must be returned before 10am on the next week day. These loans may not be renewed or extended. Renewals: You can renew an item directly by using the Log into Your Patron Record function on the library catalogue. Or there are a number of renewal options available, including online, by telephone, or from a loans desk. Holds/Requests: If an item you need is on loan to another person and is not marked "Overnight Loan" or "RR", you can place a hold on it directly using the "Request" button in its own particular entry in the Library Catalogue. You can also ask the library staff to do this for you. This will reserve the item for you when it returns to the library.
