Public School Fiction Collection
The Public School Fiction Collection provides a fascinating insight into the rich history of what is, today, regarded as a very quaint (and very British) literary tradition. Numbering around 2000 volumes, it comprises works of children's fiction, magazines and annuals of stories set in British public schools.
The collection was initially amassed by the eccentric English collector Timothy d'Arch Smith. It was purchased by the Library from London bookseller Bertram Rota in 1989.
