CISTI Source Interlibrary Loan Service

If an article is not available in the University of Melbourne Library system staff and postgraduates can use CISTI Source. This is a document delivery service from the Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information. Subject coverage is broad with the majority of content being in Science, Technology and Medicine. Veterinary Science is also covered. Date coverage is 1993 to the present, with weekly updates.

Staff and postgraduates need to register to use CISTI Source. A username and password will then be issued to you.

Currently requests to CISTI Source are free of charge for postgraduates and staff. However, you do need to check the University of Melbourne Library catalogue first to ensure that the journal you require is not held in print in any University of Melbourne libraries. If it is, then you will need to use the Inter-campus Loans service, or go to the relevant Parkville campus library to photocopy the article (Vet. Science Parkville staff and postgraduates). Also, check SuperSearch to see if the journal you require is available electronically before using CISTI Source.
