From December 12th 2006 :
To Find an Electronic Journal in SuperSearch:
Click the Find e-Journal tab in the menu.
You can then access an individual e-journal, access holdings in the Library catalogue, access other search options, or add the e-journal to your e-journals list, My e-Journals list under My Stuff.
You can search by Titles or Locate:
Titles:
- click on the first letter of the title of the e-journal. The e-journal list displays all e-journals whose title starts
with this letter OR
- type in all or part of the e-journal title in the Title field
- Select Starts with , Contains or Exact . You can use a question mark as a wild card
e.g. type veter? , and select contains to locate e-journals containing the words veterinary, veterinaria etc)
- click Go
Locate :
- You can search by title or subject, and ISSN/eISSN
E.g.
- at the Locate tab type in journal of veterinary cardiology
- click on Go
- click on the Source It button beside Journal of veterinary cardiology to access the full-text journal from Elsevier SD Freedom Collection
- If you wish to go straight to a particular article you need to fill in all the fields – year, volume, issue, start page
- click on Get It beside Check for Holdings in the University of Melbourne catalogue to check for print holdings of the journal there.
- click on the journal title link to also access the full-text journal
- click on the + button beside the journal title to add the title to your My e-journals list under My Stuff
Click on Brief View in the E-Journal List, or the i button beside the journal to get more information about the years the journal is available online.
Use Source It to link directly to a particular year, volume or page of a journal. Note that the issue number will usually be required to link directly to the page. Source It links will appear in index records on Medline, PubMed, CINAHL, Biosis Previews and Web of Science to link directly to the article or catalogue holdings.
Certain journal titles require passwords. These can be emailed to you
or ask Veterinary Science Library
Staff.
My e-journals in My Stuff
My e-Journals enables you to browse your personal e-journal list and access individual e-journals.
- Add to the My e-Journals list by clicking the + icon in the Find e-Journal list.
- Click the e-journal name to go to the e-journal's website.
- To display more information about the e-journal, click the i icon
- Click the X icon to remove the e-journal from My e-Journals.
- Click Source It to get access to the e-journal's website, and to
get print holdings information in the Library catalogue.
