Direct Export
- Conduct your search and use check boxes to mark records you want to keep
- Click on the Citation Save link
- Check the following format options:
- Label Format
- select Short labels
- Fields to Save
- select Complete record
- Output Format
- select EndNote Direct
- Click on Save Records
- Endnote should automatically open.
- Locate your Endnote library and the results will be dropped into an interim window.
- Check the new records before amalgamating with your main library. (In EndNote X1 the records are placed temporarily in the Imported Records window). Manual editing will be required for some records. Check for capitalisation of titles and that all information has been inserted into the correct fields.
- One common problem with records from some Informit databases is that some periodicals are exported as a Generic reference type and not all fileds are correct.This can be changed within the individual records.
Saving & importing
- Conduct your search and use check boxes to mark records you want to keep
- Click on Save icon
- Check the following format options:
- Label Format select short labels
- Fields to Save select complete record
- Output Format select EndNote
- Click Save Records and note location and name of the saved file
- Open your EndNote Library
- From the File menu choose Import
- Click on Choose File to browse for and select file of downloaded records
- Under Import Option select EndNote Import
- From References toolbar, select Show All to amalgamate references into your library
Note: While the EndNote Import filter downloads the information, you may need to change the template and move information into more appropriate fields.
The University of Queensland EndNote filters site has several filters for Informit databases, (including ARCH, APAIS, APA-FT, CINCH). Where no specific database filter exists - use the Informit filter. Get filters and download instructions from:
