CAVAL

The CAVAL Reciprocal Borrowing Program allows you to borrow at all Victorian universities and most TAFE institutions. You can search for material at other universities in several online catalogues. CAVAL cards are issued at the service desk and remain valid for the current year, and can be re-authorised in the following year. You need to take a CAVAL card and your student card to others libraries and register to borrow.

Note: penalties incurred at another institution will result in suspension of borrowing rights at the University of Melbourne Library.

Theological Libraries

We have a reciprocal agreement between the University of Melbourne Library and the Dalton McCaughey Library. To apply for borrowing privileges please see the information desk at the library with which you are already a member.

Borrowing at non-Victorian Universities

The National Borrowing Scheme allows you to borrow at universities outside Victoria. Consult the National Borrowing Scheme Site for a list of participating institutions. You will need to take a photo ID as well as proof of current enrolment at the University. This could be your enrolment advice form or other proof from your university.
